DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online launched in 2011 and moved to free-to-play soon after. It lets players design an original character and join the DC universe under the mentorship of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman or their villainous counterparts.

Gameplay

Combat is action-oriented rather than tab-target, with light and heavy attacks combined with power abilities. Characters pick a movement mode, such as flight, super speed or acrobatics, and a power set like fire, ice, magic or gadgets.

World and atmosphere

Metropolis and Gotham City are open zones filled with crimes to stop and collectibles to find. Episodes add story arcs drawing on famous DC events and characters.

Free content and limitations
